Has become almost expected now on various social networking and media sites. Not only must we have pictures of ourselves, but they should also be a mirror picture, or one taken from above or at arm's length. I think this gives them perhaps a more voyeuristic quality, in that, it lets the viewer into our space for a moment, and it is clear that the picture was taken to share, rather than to document the scenery or monument in the background.
